Skulls, Wire, Roses & Bones Week (Pt. 2)

OK, so due to RL sucking last week, I'm continuing the theme posts into this week with another round of body parts, barbed wire and flowers. One of the styles I picked up at the Hair Fair was the Deshu hair from Curious Kitties, which was a perfect fit for the subject matter as well as being the ideal finish for Passionate Neko Dreams' new release, Gothic Punk. I also pulled out a more traditional (well for a skull dress) look from DE Designs to round out the second post in the series.
.
Curious Kitties' Deshu Hair comes in two sets of colors, the 2008 Special Colors (Deep Water, Ripe Strawberry, Greyscale Dark and Light, Pink Floss, Greenery, Rainbow and Golden) and the "regular" CK Colors (Whitish, Blackish, Redish, Orangish, Goldish, Mintish, Greenish, Bluish, Purplish and Pinkish) with an attractive spray of bones and skulls across an adorable punky updo. The 2008 colors are L$200 each, L$1400 for the Fat Pack of 8, the CK colors are L$150 each and L$1400 for a Fat Pack of 10. Don't forget to check out the other styles in the New Releases section while you are there - I know I'll be back for more.
.
The second I put on the Deshu hair, I knew there was another new release out there waiting for it - the Gothic Punk outfit by Passionate Neko Dreams goes so perfectly with the hair and the theme, you'd think they had been made to go together. A short and sexy "club to bed" (and vice versa) outfit, Gothic Punk comes complete with complementary mismatched stockings and skull 'n' lace choker to go with the loose garters and sweet as sin corset. No Fat Pack here, but three colors to choose from - red, green and purple - each for L$350 and the perfect excuse to bring out those heavy punk boots or lacy goth ankle boots, depending on the occasion.
.
Finally, for a more casual look, DE Designs has the short toga-inspired Mekala outfit in three designs - Black, Daiquiri and, yep, Skully. You can get just one for L$325, but the Fat Pack gives you a three for two with all included for L$650, a bargain for such a flattering style. A single shoulder draped outfit with a jacket layer cinch belt, the skull pattern puts a surprising edge to an otherwise totally sweet and innocent look - perfect for a day of shopping or an evening out with a friend.
.
Gothic Punk can be found at the Passionate Neko Dreams Main Store and topped with Deshu from the Curious Kitties Main Store, while Mekala can be found at the DE Designs Main Store.

Kiki's Closet - Flirt Skirt

I warned you I was in a short skirt mood and it continues on (though tomorrow will *not* be a skirt - promise). That said, here's another must have black skirt from Kiki's Closet - though it comes in two other colors as well (tartan and stripe) and I recommend at least two. There are five skirt and belt combinations that include three buckled belts, unbelted, single belted and, of course, the large prim back bow can be worn in several mixes as well. Long and short pants come in both layers (great for tattoos) as do the high waist shirt top which comes in 3 layers for versatility.

I was so excited when I saw this skirt because I knew it was what I had been searching for to pair with DE Designs Tango Spring 08 blouse. The skirt also comes with a matching thigh belt that peeks out from under the skirt to add a little extra "umph" (not that it doesn't have it's own) and the lace edging is a terrific touch. For L$100 , I admit that I bought two and am so happy to have done so (and will probably go back to finish out my set).

For an incredibly versatile flirty skirt with an edge, visit Kiki's Closet.

AnnaH - Paris Shorts

I read the notice about the sale ending at AnnaH and decided to wander over and see what my slim Lindens could purchase. Always on the hunt for a black pant with that "something" that sets it apart from all the other black pants, I knew I was buying them the second I saw the Paris Shorts. I love the mid-knee length and the prim bell shaped cuffs combined with a detailed double side button waist. It must be a sign of spring that I'm finding myself drawn to shorter length pants and skirts lately - even if they are black.

The shorts look terrific with heels or ankle boots, though they are a bit awkward with a knee boot, due to the length (a pair of dark tights would probably fix this right up). The texture and tone are very soft, so it sets off almost any top perfectly, with the shape being the focal point. I picked up mine for L$50 at the sale, regularly priced at L$75 - but these would still be a deal for double the price.

For a pair of black pants that don't fade into the background, take a trip to AnnaH Couture.

DE Designs - Intruder Jacket

Looking for something with a lot of metal, a lot of detail and a lot of flexibility? Wondering if I ever wear anything with colors in it? Well, here's the answer to both questions in one post. The DE Designs Intruder set is all about both and the jacket layer can be worn with the outfit and accompanying bra or with jeans, leather, latex, skirts, pants, or shorts. And for those "His & Hers" parties - there is a men's version as well. (Yes, I love this pose and I'm playing with it like a shiny new toy...)

The set comes with 6 pieces - the jacket and bra (which look great together or alone), gloves and three pants in red (long in two layers for versatility and a pair of shorts). All versions of the pants have a gorgeously detailed belt built in and have enough going on themselves to not be overwhelmed by the jacket. If you happen to have a wardrobe heavy on black (whistles and looks innocent) you can mix and match all day long with the various parts of this set.
At first glance it seems that your shoe options are limited to ankle boots, but don't be fooled - pair the shorts with a pair of pumps with personality and you have an outfit that will make you the center of attention at any party - public or private. The set sells for L$375 and comes in three colors - the red I positively love as well as black and brown. There is also a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" pack for L$750 that I deeply regret not buying straight off with all three colors in it
