Insolence - Lilly Satin Lingerie

I hate it when RL keeps me from blogging something spectacular for way too long, but at least with Insolence lingerie, the look is timeless. One of the many reasons to join the Insolence group is the beautifully written release notecards. When I received camilla Yousuke's card for this set, it perfectly matched my "curl up by the fire with a glass of wine" fall is here mood and, in fact, similar feelings were what inspired her to create this gorgeous satin ensemble. 28 pieces, all layers and prim details combine to create so many different looks you will wonder if you will ever run out of combinations.
.
Sumptiously patterned satin is used throughout in full corset, short corset and bra for the upper body, tied with satin ribbons and edged with prim lace. All varieties come in shirt and undershirt with a full corset jacket layer as well. Back seamed stockings add even more possiblities as all bottom layers include options both with and without garters, with and without panties, panty only (both boy cut and tiny string) and prim lace attachments for both corset and panty combinations. Yes, it's dizzying - and I didn't even mention the fabulous prim satin ribbon back tie.
.
The Lilly set comes in a palette of fall colors - black, emerald, blue, purple, red and gold - with all combinations included for only L$290 per color. Ah, how I wish there were a fatpack, but don't despair - it is no copy, no mod, transfer and perfect for gift giving (or receiving) - just find a (close) friend to help you finish out your collection. In camilla's own words, "I really hope this ensemble will satisfy the most exigent, and bring you that warm, comfy sexy feeling I get wearing them on the sofa as I write these lines.
.
Hoping to meet you soon at the Insolence Main Store, at Venom."

The Hat Shop - Bogart Fedora

I love hats. I mean I seriously love hats. Which is why it is strange that this is my first hat feature. I've blogged quite a few outfits with hats and I was recently horribly depressed when an adorable 1920's style outfit I bought came with everything but the hat. (Worse, the hat wasn't anywhere to be found in the shop.) And yes, I have a folder of "hat hair" pre-modded just for tossing on a jaunty cap before heading out for the evening. So, with great enthusiasm for a great piece from a classic era, I present my first featured hat - the Bogart Fedora from The Hat Shop.

The Hat Shop has a variety of hats, including several fedora styles if you are more Godfather than Bogart, but I'm pure Bogie and Bacall and I adore this hat. It comes in 6 colors at L$150 per color or a L$400 fat pack that contains them all - cream, white, toffee, grey and black. With it's wide band and slightly crumpled feel, this hat is the perfect finishing touch for a wide range of outfits. From fitted dresses to menswear, topping your look with this detailed fedora will let you stroll into the smoke filled corners of the dimmest jazz clubs with style.
.
So, play it again and again at The Hat Shop.

::Tuli:: - "S6" Skins (Emily, Celeste & Nikki)

The long wait is finally over, the "S6" skins are out - and they have names. I'm a ::Tuli:: skin fanatic - they are absolutely gorgeous in every detail and perfection on my shape. I own a rather excessive number of S5 skins and bemoan the fact that I discovered them too late to own the S4s (especially the spectacular freckled ones). When I received my group gift of the Emily and Celeste skins, I was not disappointed.

There are three next generation skins - Emily, Celeste and Nikki (which is exclusive to the Dogtown location). They come in light, pale and tanned skintones (Nikki only pale and light) with four eyebrow colors (dark, medium, light and red) and two tintable styles of pubic hair (landing strip and heart shaped). The base skins are shaved.
.
Emily combines a glossy lip with a dramatic eye that makes for a wear all the time skin (especially the freckled versions) that is absolutely luminescent. The released makeup colors are candy, petal, coal and paradis. Celeste comes in air, smoke, lumina and dawn, continuing with the deep eye and the lighter lip makeup, but using brighter colors in matte for a feeling of innocence. Individual makeups are L$1150 and include both the freckled and unfreckled versions, a fat pack is available for each skintone with all four makeups in both versions for L$3000.
.
The Nikki skin is special and spectacular in several ways. Sold only in pale and light through the Dogtown Urban Shopping store, Nikki comes in freckled and unfreckled versions of the gash and grief makeups. Gash features cuts and scrapes across the eye, lips and cheeks, grief combines a tearstained smeared eye with a scraped lip so beautifully as to satisfy any urban waif. The makeups are L$1250 individually or $1850 for a fat pack of the entire skintone (both makeups, both versions). Someday I will own the Nikki skins, but I am holding out to save up for the fat pack - they are that well done.
.
Get comfortable (or uncomfortable) in your skin at the ::Tuli:: Main Store at LeZoo or the ::Tuli:: Store at Dogtown (Nikki only available here).

The Basics - Redux

It's been a few months and some things have changed. While I still love my Fleur skins and pull them out all the time for outfits, my day to day look has switched to ::Tuli:: S5 (S6 coming soon) skins. Most often I'm in either the medium or the tan tone - natural, diva, classic or glam makeups. Tattoos still lean heavily to addiXion and iNFLiCT, though the Gecko design from Muisim is getting a lot of play time.

My favorite hair and the one I return to over and over is The Poynter by Armidi, but I recently discovered the Detour textured flexi hairs and am madly in lust, so we'll see. Writer is about all I've worn since buying it (in two colors, no less). I've looked at a lot of eyes and lashes in different colors and styles and I really don't think they are going to ever be changing - I stumbled across Glanz eyes early on and I simply love them. Along with the ::Tuli:: makeups, they are just perfect for me.
.
I suppose since folks have started asking me where my hair, skin, etc. came from, I should throw out a little advice to the "even newer than I" residents. If I had to pick just one tip to hand out it would be to invest in a good skin and shape. Pick up every demo you can find and keep trying combinations until one "fits". Don't hesitate to delete the ones that aren't perfect - the right one will come along and you won't be sifting through the maybes to find it when you have the L$ to buy it. And speaking of buying it - skin and shape are not the place to save Lindens, trust me.

Adam 'n' Eve - Snakeskin Dress

Adam 'n' Eve's Catwalk collection has some absolutely fabulous designs in gorgeous colors and textures. The one I fell in love with immediately was the Snakeskin Dress and I was thrilled to discover two different skirts included for my mix and match needs. All the colors are deep and rich and the snakeskin texture is clear and detailed - as a result it is easy to pair it with a variety of separates and shoes.

The outfit consists of a top, shorts (underskirt) and both a slim prim mini and a flexi mini. I had a bit of trouble adjusting the prim mini, but I always do - probably why I prefer flexis with my shape. That said, most folks won't have the problems that I did. The dress comes in 6 colors to satisfy any preference - red, green, silver, white, blue and gold - and a fatpack for those who just can't decide. Each color is L$300 purchased separately or in the "Brat Pack" containing all colors for L$1200.

See the entire Catwalk Collection at Adam 'n' Eve's Genesis Drive Boutique.
